National engagement with Article 6
Zimbabwe has been engaged in cooperative-approach discussions under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, and is among the African jurisdictions actively developing institutional readiness for Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMOs).
Sectors of focus
Zimbabwe's mitigation profile spans land use, forestry, and energy. The country's participation in the Alliance is expected to strengthen access to results-based finance for forest landscape restoration, distributed renewable energy, and clean-cooking pathways.
